Mermaid Day


Mermaid Day
This tutorial was written by Jenny on 2/26/2010. Resemblance to any other tutorial is purely coincidental and unintentional. I am using the artwork of Joanne Schempp. You need a license to use her artwork. This particular tube was available as a freebie at MyTagArt.

Supplies Needed:
Tube of choice
Scrap of choice
(Or the FTU one I'm using by Sally Gilroy from MyTagArt (which is no longer available) )
Collab Template 1 by Inlove & Sabine
WSL_Mask254 by Weescotslass
Font of choice (I'm using SBC Jills Place)

Open template, hide credits, shift d to duplicate,close original.

Select the Raster 1 layer, new raster layer, flood fill with a complimentary color, apply mask.

Using the Change to Target Brush, recolor the following to match your scrapkit or tube:
Group BG Mask
shape 1
shape 3


Select pink rectangle, selections,select all, float, defloat, new raster layer, flood fill with a color of choice, select none, hide original, duplicate, mirror.

Select Blk rectangle 1 and repeat the above step using a different color.

Hide Pink Rectangle 2 and Blk Rectangle 2.

Select Blk Rectangle Middle, selections,select all, float,defloat, new raster layer, flood fill with a color of choice, select none, hide original.

Repeat with the Pink Rectangle Middle changing the color.

Select blk shape 2, selections, select all, float, defloat, new raster layer, flood fill with color of choice, select none, hide original.

Select doodles, selections, select all, float, defloat, new raster layer, flood fill with a color of choice, select none, apply some noise if you'd like, hide original.

Copy & Paste tube, position to your liking, resize if needed, add drop shadow.

Arrange flowers and butterflies to your liking, resizing as needed and add drop shadow.

You are now ready to resize the canvas if you'd like. Add copyright info and you're ready to save.
