Naughty Traditions

This tutorial was written by Jenny on 11-11-2008. Resemblance to any other tutorial is purely coincidental and unintentional. I am using the artwork of Amanda Fontaine. You need a license in order to use her artwork. I have one through Artistic Minds Inc. You can now purchase her tubes HERE.

Supplies Needed:
1 tube or image of choice
Traditional Xmas FTU Scrapkit by Bluedream Designs
Mask of choice
Font of choice (I'm using Unnamed Melody)

Open a new canvas 600x600. We will resize later. Flood fill white.
New raster layer, select with magic wand, copy and paste a paper of choice into selected layer, select none, apply mask. Copy and past frame of choice as a new layer, resize to your liking, add drop shadow.

Copy and paste paper of choice as a new layer, move below frame layer, use your selections tool to draw around the frame, with the paper layer selected, selections, invert, delete.

Copy and paste strand of lights as a new layer and move to the top of the frame, resize, add drop shadow.

Copy and paste 3 ornaments of choice as a new layer, resize if needed, add drop shadow. Free Rotate one ornament 11 degrees to the left and one 11 degrees to the right. See my tag for placement. Copy and paste bow of choice, resize, add drop shadow and place above the ornaments so that they look as if they are hanging from the bow.

Copy and paste christmas flower of choice as a new layer, mirror, resize, add drop shadow and place in the right hand corner of the frame. Duplicate, image, mirror, flip.

Copy and paste holly leaf as a new layer, resize, add drop shadow, move to the bottom right side of the frame, duplicate and free rotate 11 degrees right.
Duplicate both layers,flip.

Copy and paste decoration as a new layer and place above the holly layers, resize, add drop shadow.

Now for adding the tube, if you wish to do it the way I have mine, here's what you do....Copy and paste tube as a new layer, resize if needed, place below frame layer but above paper layer. Using your selection tool, select the top part of the tube that you want to stick out of the frame, in the layer pallete right click, promote selection to layer, move that layer to the very top, select none. Go back and add a drop shadow on the original tube layer.

Now hide mask and background layer. Merge visible all other layers. Unhide mask and background, with the mask layer selected, merge down. You should now have 2 layers. On the top layer, resize 95%,merge visible, resize all by 95%.

Add copyright info (I am using PF Tempesta Five, size 6,stroke width 0.

Add your name and you're done. thanks for trying my tutorial.
